WARDROBE ARCHIVE
The aim of this tool is to create awareness on visual identity and explore its construction through the act of archiving and creating an inventory of your personal wardrobe. I have developed a method that allows you to engage in this process independently.
The method I developed centers around archiving one’s personal wardrobe, extracting the visual aspect of the clothing. You will create linear outlines from photographs of their wardrobe. After that you will number and describe all the different pieces and add information of that piece with the corresponding number.
This information can contain the following:
-
A description of color and fabric
-
What kind of item it is
-
Brand
-
How you got the piece
-
When you got the piece
-
What it means to you
This method can be applied to your general closet, your bag, your tattoos, etcetera. You can find examples below. If you want to share your inventory and have it published on the website, please email it to: thewardrobearchive@gmail.com
